A local lawman in a town bypassed by the world.
Philipe Daguerre’s family has lived in the New Port Chalmers since before the place was named Port Chalmers. He was originally one of several deputies in the town of Port Chalmers, but happened to be out of town during the accident that replaced the town with Lake New Port Chalmers. Since then the aldermen of New Port Chalmers have confirmed his effective status as last remaining lawman by appointing him town marshal. Daguerre spends his time arbitrating minor disputes and avoiding paperwork. His authority only extends to the boundaries of the town, though, and he needs help to handle problems in the outlying area.
